The village of Dobropoljana is situated in a cove of the same name, below the maximum elevation point of the island and has about 400 inhabitants. The place is known for its superb cuisine, given the fact that residents are engaged in growing fruit, vegetables and olives and the production of small quantities of quality wine and olive oil.

In addition to culinary delights, visitors can enjoy the tranquillity of the northern and the wildness of the southern beaches, while staying in a place unburdened with high traffic and crowds on the streets and beaches. Dobropoljana is the birthplace of the great Croatian and world basketball player, the late Kresimir Cosic.
